Monash University Animal Ethics Information Session - “Animal Use in Research & Teaching”

Monash University requires that:

• All new research staff and students using live animals complete the information session “Animal Use in Research and Teaching”.

• Investigators must have successfully completed the relevant training to be named on an animal ethics application.

Australian-American Fulbright Scholarships Information Day

The Australian-American Fulbright Commission will be in Victoria to conduct a series of targeted information sessions on Fulbright Scholarships on 5 May 2015. RMIT will partner with the Fulbright Commission as the State University Host for the Fulbright Victoria Day. Interested applicants for Fulbright Scholarships are cordially invited onto the RMIT campus, or to participate through videoconferencing links and streaming at their home university.

Faculty of MNHS graduate research staff forum

All Graduate Research Supervisors, Coordinators, Administrators and Program Directors all warmly invited to attend the Faculty’s annual Graduate Research Staff Forum! This forum will focus on recent changes implemented in Graduate Research including progression management and intellectual property.

It provides an opportunity to learn more and become familiar with these important matters, and hear directly from the experts on how they affect your role. Come along to learn this valuable information and network with your colleagues. Morning tea provided.

Animal Ethics Information Session

All new Monash staff and students using live animals complete the information session titled “Animal Use in Research and Teaching” run by the Monash Animal Ethics Office at the first available session;

Researchers, Teachers and students must have attended or enrolled in the next available session to be named on an animal ethics application. 

Date: Tuesday 24 February 2015 

Time: 9:30am to 12pm 

Venue: Lecture Theatre R1, 46 Exhibition Walk (Building 8), Wellington Road, Clayton Campus 

Register: Staff and students will be required to register using their authcate but there will be a guest form for anyone without a Monash University authcate account or for anyone needing to book in other users.

Information session: Australian code for the care and use of animals for scientific purposes

On October 1st 2014, the "Australian code for the care and use of animals for scientific purposes, 8th edition" became mandatory in Victoria as a condition of scientific procedures premises licences, scientific procedures fieldwork licences, and specified animal breeding licences.

You are invited to attend a joint Department of Environment and Primary Industries / Monash University information session on the new edition of the Australian Code.
