Cancer thesis hits the mark in 3MT Faculty Final

The winner of last Friday’s Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Faculty Final was Zoe Marks from the School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health, with her three minute thesis titled: Cancer 'Signatures' in blood; Reading the fine print!

Zoe will now advance to the Monash University wide 3MT competition where she will be up against overall winners from other Faculties.

Second place went to Xiaoyan Huang from School of Nursing with her thesis titled: Communication about maternal breast cancer with children in China.

Third place went to Robert Eres from School of Psychological Sciences with his thesis: Understanding the moral and empathic brain.

The People's Choice Award went to Susan Cartledge from School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, for her thesis: Are we training the right people?

Susan will now go into the Wildcard competition where all People's Choice Award winners from every faculty will compete with the overall winner getting the chance to go through to the Monash University wide 3MT final.

The university wide 3MT final will be held on Wednesday, 16 September at 1pm in Alexander Theatre, 48 Exhibition Walk.

The winner of the university-wide final will represent Monash University at the Trans-Tasman final to take place on 2 October, competing against other finalists from universities in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Trans-Tasman winner will receive a $5000 travel grant plus funding and entry into the Falling Walls Lab Final and Conference in Berlin.
