Apply: ASSA workshop program 2016-2017

The Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia's (ASSA) Workshop Program is a competitive program providing grants to assist social sciences researchers to convene a two-day, multidisciplinary research workshop on an issue of national concern in the social sciences.

The Workshop Program provides an important arena for intellectual exchange and innovation, a mechanism for exploring linkages between research and policy, and a valuable means of supporting Early Career Researchers.

Workshops will be funded to a maximum of $9,000 which includes provision for $1500 towards the cost of a digested analysis paper. It is expected that one of the convenors should be an Academy Fellow and at least two of the participants must be Australia-based Early Career Researchers. Policy-related workshops often include government officials and/or policy analysts.

Past workshops have explored diverse topics such as family, work and wellbeing over the life course, cultures of humanitarianism across the Asia-Pacific region, the globalisation of international society, environmental governance, impact of neuroscience and behavioural genetics on Australian law, intercountry adoption in Australia, the children’s courts system and energy security in an era of climate change.

Application forms should be submitted via email to: Mrs Nurdan Kulluk-Rennert, Executive and Workshops Program Manager, ASSA
Phone: (02) 6249 1788

Closing Date: 18 September 2015
