MKW 2015

We are delighted to announce that the 6th edition of Melbourne Knowledge Week (MKW) will be held from Monday 19 to Sunday 25 October 2015.

Due to a date change for next year (more on this in a moment) MKW 2015 will be a smaller capacity festival, with our resources this year also being devoted to the festival’s future development.

For this reason, places in the MKW 2015 program are limited. If you do have an event you would like to propose for MKW 2015 please email us at melbourneknowledge@melbourne.vic.gov.au as soon as possible.

Future timing of MKW

During our review of MKW, it was identified that a shift in timing of the festival was needed.

The change in timing is to :

• Avoid key university dates such as open days, exams and vacation periods. 
• Cut through Melbourne’s busy events calendar, and move away from Melbourne Cup, other key City of Melbourne events, and the Christmas period. 
• Avoid end-of year festival fatigue and venue availability issues. 

May was determined as the most suitable month to schedule future MKWs, effective 2016.
