Good healthcare for patients depends on drawing on the best
available evidence to make decisions.
The International Journal of
Evidence-Based Healthcare is a fully refereed journal that aims to make the
evidence available to health professionals. It publishes papers containing
reliable evidence to assist health professionals in their decision-making and
to inform health professionals, students and researchers of outcomes, debates
and developments in evidence-based healthcare.
And now the journal has launched on Facebook and Twitter to make it even easier
for practitioners, students and researchers to stay informed.
“Rather than rely on people coming to look at the journal,
we wanted to start a conversation in spaces they spend a fair bit of time in,”
she said.
“Facebook presence offers the opportunity to engage readers
in the activity of the journal, and to raise the profile of the papers
presented within the issues.”
The International Journal of Evidence-Based Healthcare is a
fully refereed journal published quarterly. The journal is divided into several
sections that may, or may not be present in each quarterly issue. These are:
Evidence Synthesis (translation), Evidence Transfer (dissemination), Evidence
Utilisation (implementation and evaluation), Commentary and Letters to the
Editor. It welcomes submissions from all authors seeking to publish in the
above areas. The journal also publishes research conducted by the Joanna Briggs
Institute and its international collaborating centres, affiliated centres and
groups.
Editor in Chief, Dr Hanan Khalil, and Managing Editor, Helen
Chambers, are both based at the School of Rural Health MUDRIH http://www.med.monash.edu.au/srh/mudrih
