Associate Professors Ted Brown (Department of Occupational Therapy) and Brett Williams (Department of Community Emergency Health and Paramedic Practice) have recently published a new book titled: 'Evidence-based Education in the Health Professions: promoting best practice in the learning and teaching of students' by Radcliffe Publishers.
The focus of the new book is on evidence-based education related to health professional students. In short, the aim of the book is to promote the notion that our teaching and learning methods should be based on sound empirical evidence, in exactly the same way it is for our clinical practice.
The edited book consists of 36 chapters from over 46 contributing authors from Australia, Canada, USA and UK; eight of them being from Monash University. The 46 contributing authors also come from a variety of health professions including paramedics, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, pharmacy, medicine, nursing, dietetics, radiography, and speech pathology.
We would like to warmly extend invitations to all Faculty staff. It will be a great opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge the achievement of all the Monash academic and professional staff who were contributing authors. If you would like to attend this event please email: joanne.tymms@monash.edu
