Dr Manoj Gambhir represents The School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at the CDC in Atlanta

As Ebola continues to pose a threat to public health, the Atlanta-based Centre for Disease Control recently predicted that there would be half a million Ebola cases by January.

Overseeing these predictions is The School's Dr Manoj Gambhir, who has been seconded to the CDC's Ebola emergency response, as part of the modelling taskforce.

He arrived in Atlanta six weeks ago, just as the "half-a-million" announcement was made.
