Reminder: CAESIE Priming Grants Second Call 2014

CAESIE is pleased to announce a second call for Priming Grants (PGA-2).

These grants are slightly different from those previously provided.
In this round, a one-time grant of AUD 7,000/EUR 4,800 will be made to successful applicants to support initial meetings and discussions between new and emerging Researcher/SMEs partnerships (e.g. travel and meetings focused on forming a relationship leading to ongoing collaboration activities). Unlike the first call there is only one stage with no follow on funds.

All projects must be completed within 6 months of funding approved (successful applicants will be notified by 31 October 2014) and final reports submitted to CAESIE by 1 June 2015.
Note: If these deadlines cannot be met then no application should be submitted.
To be eligible the Researcher (or group) and an SME should have identified a possible collaborative relationship. It should be a new initiative and not part of an ongoing established collaboration.
Specifically CAESIE funding only supports the following:
1. SMEs from Europe seeking to partner with Researchers from Australia.
2. SMEs from Australia looking to partner with Researchers in Europe.
3. Researchers in Europe seeking to partner with SMEs in Australia.
4. Researchers in Australia seeking to partner with SMEs in Europe.

We do not support Researcher-Researcher or SME-SME collaborations between the AU-EU and EU-AU. If you have been a recipient of a previous Priming Grant you are not eligible to apply.
Each researcher or SME is permitted to be part of only one application either as the applicant or as the other partner. Multiple applications are not permitted.

The Second Call Application Process

In order to apply for a grant you must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). The EOI process allows for CAESIE to assess your eligibility to proceed to the next step and make an application. You cannot apply for a Priming Grant unless you have first made an EOI, had it approved, and been issued with an EOI number. Having an EOI approval does not guarantee that you will get a Priming Grant.
The EOI process is open from 1 August to 26 September 2014. EOIs received after this date will not be processed.

Once your EOI is approved you are issued with an EOI number and a link to the online PG Application Smartform. The form will be accessible for completion from 1 September to 30 September 2014.

All grant applications must be submitted by 12.00 mid-night on 30 September (UTC). Applications received after this deadline will not be accepted.
An external assessor panel will review applications and all applicants notified of the outcomes no later than 31 October 2014.
The 2014 guidelines are available for download on the CAESIE website www.caesie.org and must be read by all potential applicants.
