- · From 2016, there will be two types of Bachelors courses offered at Monash
Specialist – offering focus through early specialisation
All FMNHS courses will be
‘specialist courses’
Rationale for these changes
·
Specialist courses
o
Offer focus and depth in
your chosen discipline from the onset of the course
o
Enable you to start the
course of study required to enter a regulated profession straight from school
o
Provide a direct pathway to
employment or postgraduate study
- · An Australian first – ALL 4+ year single degree courses are at honours level
(i.e. rewarding students for their depth
and duration of study)
From 2015 onwards, this applies to Bachelor
of Occupational Therapy (Honours), MBBS (Honours), Bachelor of Physiotherapy
(Honours), Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics (Honours), Bachelor of
Radiography & Medical Imaging (Honours)
- · Vertical double UG+PG may reduce the total course duration by as much as a year
- · THE PLANNED (this has not yet been approved by the University) Bachelor of Health Science (will be a portal to undergraduate and/or postgraduate qualifications in allied health and public health.
- · Greater flexibility allowing Health Science students to change or choose their specialism course at the start of 2nd year
